Aikatsu Stars! Episode 70 Review: Jungle-katsu!

AOI PLS <3 <3 <3

Episode 69 was underwhelming and yeah, there were some good parts, but the mood wasn’t right for the much hyped crossover between OG Aikatsu! and Aikatsu Stars! episode to excite the fans a crossover happened and it failed to deliver expectations. Thankfully episode 70 delivered and I got what I wanted.

…especially Aoi.

Aikatsu Stars! Episode 69 Review: Wasted Opportunity

As you may have noticed I stopped making episode reviews for Aikatsu Stars! season 2 and the reason for that is part laziness. But with that said though, I’ll make a review of the entirety of season 2, or maybe make a review of the first and second half. Though… I still need to watch Aikatsu Stars! past episode 58… And yeah, I’m that far away.

Anyway, after hearing the anime is doing a two-episode crossover special with the OG cast and having seen the first episode of the special (raw, obviously), I think I’ll make a review of it now. Please bear in mind I skipped a lot of episodes, so I cannot comment regarding the continuity of the story. But one thing is for certain though: The crossover happened because the Aikatsu! anime(?) series is celebrating its 5th year.

Photokatsu! is so damn expensive

You know, I rarely buy digital goods using real money. Back in Team Fortress 2, I bought some keys and I never bought hats (if I recall correctly) because it was kinda annoying to look at your items with a “cannot be traded” tag. Plus, they’re digital goods and these items can be found via random drops anyways. The main reason why I spent real money on keys in the first place is I need them to trade for Steam games. TF2’s trading scene was big and I was able to get games for half the price and that’s also the reason why my Steam game library is big at 270 games.

Aikatsu!: Nerawareta Mahou no Aikatsu Card Review: Impromptu Ending

The ending of OG Aikatsu! was okay in my opinion. Not the best simply because how the characters were handled in the end. The 4th season decided to shorten its runtime so we saw some rushed moments and character development like how the hell two newbie potato Mizuki-Mikuru clones/palette swaps ended up qualifying for Starlight Queen, and it was debatable how Akari managed to outpace the more athletically superior Ichigo in the triathlon. But I guess they want to show Akari she’s equal or even stronger than Ichigo now and reference that same moment between Ichigo and her mother Ringo. I didn’t agree with it.

In this special episode, I found it odd why Akari never addressed Ichigo’s name or even surname. It’s all “hai!” like the doormat Akari once was. Oh well…

Aikatsu! Photo on Stage!! Mobile Game – The first few months

screenshot_20160929-082845

Been meaning to make a review-first-impressions-like post for the mobile app game Aikatsu! Photo on Stage!! or Photokatsu! for short, but I decided to put it on hold until I gathered enough cards and experience of my time with the game.

I’m gonna talk about my impressions with the game and also talk about some other stuff that had happened. So yeah.

Random rant about something

AFBP_06

Aikatsu Friends Beat Punk

Let me treat this blog as a blog for once, so I’ll rant something that’s been bugging me for a while (even though I already know the answer to this).

It’s been more than a year since we started scanlating Aikatsu! doujinshi and I’m actually surprised how much we improved, like I became the group’s typesetter mainly because we’re understaffed and got more helping hands. I’ve improved after I did typesetting for a few doujinshi (I TS’d 80% of the doujins), and aside from that, my Japanese reading skills slightly improved. I can recognize a few kanji so there were times I can read sentences without looking up the kanji’s definition. I’m still far from perfect and I still need a checker to, well, check my translations.

Anyway, yeah, I’m a fansubber and I started around in 2007 but I only recently started scanlation.

Now for the actual rant.
